Prometheus Gas Cooling Procedure

1. Turn on the oil pump with valves and the blower.

2. Hook up LN2 tank (liquid valve) to the bellow.

3. Pump out insulating jacket:
a) Open "insulating jacket" valve (toward the region); make sure all Prometheus valves are closed.
b) Keep the big pump on and open its valve. Open other valve just below Plugged output.
c) Open (for a little while) the 2 yellow valves for the pipe.
d) Make sure top vent is plugged (closed)
e) Pump out with pump
f) Close valves and turn off pump. Close jacket valve

4. Make sure LN2 vent (green round handle) is open as well as other valves.

5. Open valve on LN2 tank

6. Let LN2 run through cold trap for a while until it comes out from the top tube

7. Close the LN2 tank and unscrew the bellow a little bit

8. Close the valves (blue, green), not the LN2 vent! (round handle)

9. Pump laser gas into the system
a) plug in the little pump
b) open out valve first
c) open inlet valve

10. Run it until temperature (on the gas processor) reaches ~-250 degrees C

11. Close LN2 vent (round green handle)

12. Pressure (as measures by black gauge) should start to rise

13. Adjust pressure at 80 psi by turning big black valve

14. Gas temperature will start to rise

15. Run it until temperature gets below ~-230 degrees C

16. Close the inlet (1st) and out valves (2nd)

17. Unplug the little pump

18. Open slowly the blue valve until pressure goes to 0

19. Open the two other valves (green)

20. Turn all the way (increase) the big black one

21. Restart the loop (3-4) times (STEPS 4-21)
